DESTITUTE ANIMAL SHELTER
FOSTERING
ADOPT icon

Would you like to give a home to a dog but are unable to do so due to limited funds? Then we may have the answer for both you and one of our long term or older dogs.
If you can offer a loving, permanent home to a dog then we will offer to take care of any vet’s fees that may arise in the future.
All you need to do is exercise, groom, provide food and abide by the terms of our foster statement and all enforced laws concerning dog ownership. We will pay for booster vaccinations, worming, flea treatment and any vet’s fees that may arise due to illness or none fault injury.
(If the dog were to become injured or ill due to negligence of the fosterer then we would remove the dog and return him/her into the care of the Destitute Animal Shelter)
We can only pay vet’s fees for dogs treated by our own vet.
A home visit will be carried out and we will choose the dog most suited to you and your environment.
The scheme will only apply to dogs & cats that are elderly and those who need permanent expensive treatments
You can return the dog to us with notice if you are unable to keep the dog and we may be able to offer short term care if you are away from home for a short period of time.
If you work full time or are only able to offer foster care for the weekend we will not be able to accept your application.

IMPORTANT - Not all dogs are available for fostering.
Please check the HOMES WANTED page to see which dogs can be fostered.
